EDITING EXPERIENCE

Image
OUR EXPERIENCE To create our film and preliminary tasks, we used " Pinnacle Studios "  which is a paid application easy to use for beginners in film making on any type of computer. To commence, we started off by including a Lionsgate intro to create more of a professional look to our film opening. To include, we added many nature shots to make it more tense and include the audeince in the action. This way the audience will have the ability to observe how more rain seems to appear as the film opening reaches the point in which the girl is hit in the head with the rock. Also, we included mysterious music in the background, sound effects of twigs breaking and birds chirping, and a heart beat in the background to mimic the  increasing   heartbeat of the girl running away from the stalker. In terms of editing the videos, we used fade-out effects to create tension and intrigue among the viewers, helping to make them desire to watch the film. To include, we app...

PRELIMINARY FILM OPENING/TASK

Image
HERE I PRESENT MY PRELIMINARY FILM OPENING. THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

SECOND DAY FILMING

Image
SECOND DAY FILMING On our second day filming, there was hardly any rain, meaning we had to eliminate many scenes from our film plan as there was a dramatic change from lots of rain to hardly any rain. This was the day we filmed small scenes like the start of the film opening and the flashback scenes of the stalker looking at photos. We filmed following scenes and the encounter of the stalker and the stalkee We experienced a few mosquitos disturbing the filming process and a few slips on the surfaces as they were mildy humid.

FIRST DAY FILMING

Image
FIRST DAY FILMING On the first day, we filmed most of the scenes we needed, filming scenes with multiple different angles to find the adequate angles for our film opening and the correct lighting to be able to view it properly This day it was raining softly with helped us create more emotion in our film opening. The surfaces were mildly slippery, causing some slips here and there. The rain would affect our filming as the camera had to be covered to not be damaged.  We used a bag to protect the camera from the wet floors beneath it.  Throughout this film day, we filmed the chase scene and nature shots. This was an intense and stressful scene to film as we had to create the create emotion, act as best as we could and include as many shots and angles as possible.

RISK ASSESMENT

RISK ASSESMENT In the production of our film opening, we decided to locate our film making in a forest. In the forest there are certain risks: - slippery floors - dangers of falling objects from the trees above. - dangerous insects & animals. - the risk of getting lost. - dangerous people. In terms of weather conditions: - wind: could result in flying objects. - rain: slippery objects and surfaces and risk of damage of equipment. - clouds or fog: bad lighting. - sun: too much lighting or not adequate lighting for the type of genre. Throughout our film production, it rained, creating a mysterious effect on the film. As the film opening intensifies, there is more raing to accompany the tense situation. There were moments in which the rain made surfaces and objects slippery which we had to take into account for our safety.

PRELIMINARY TASK

Image
In this task, I asked my boyfriend Alfonso to collaborate with me to create my preliminary task. I used my Nikon Coolpix L850 to film the task. MISE EN SCENE OF THE TASK • Makeup: I have used a more natural look - Maybelline New York mascara - Cejas product for eyebrows - Eyeliner by maybelline • Outfit: I have chosen a casual outfit consisting of: - Puma windbreaker - Nike t-shirt - Domyos leggings - Blue vans old skool •Outfit: I have an outfit change which consists of: - Mesh top - Black jeans - Black shoes • Location: the location I have chosen is my house in the centre of Jerez de la Frontera. • Lighting: I chose high-key lighting so that features could be seen clearly and to avoid dark areas in the frame, including a vivid colour into it. However, in my house there isn't a very good lighting which we had to adapt to and use extra lighting. • Setting & Props: I have chosen the kitchen, bedroom, stairs and bathroom of my house

SOUND

Image
In our film opening we have used background music to help create tension amongst the audience. It will also create the correct emotion for the film to apply intrigue and unease, as those the emotions expected in a horror/mystery film. Due to the wide selection of different tracks, we spent our time listening to the songs to find the perfect one. In the end, we found this track, which suited the film opening perfectly, being that it included many " crescendos ", which is a gradual increase in the loudness in the music

ANALYSIS OF DARK

Image
Dark is an original German series and first one to be on Netflix. The story of the series shows the sudden disappearance of a character in the forest and the dejà vu moments of certain situations that happened 30 years ago. One of the characters was sent a letter from his dead father explaining the situation with a bundle equipment to help him find the lost character. With the help of the equipment and his dad's directions written in the letter, he was capable of travellin through time and found the character. However, he got trapped in the 80's with no way out. This is the end of season 1 as it is a new series. In the first scene, there is a close up on the character Jonas (aged 16-18) with to create mystery and tension among the audience. There is a cut on his lip to show a situation which he went through to give him a more "tough" and "fearless" impression. He wakes up suddenly as he noticed he was in a small compact room which the audience has see...

ANALYSIS OF THE WALKING DEAD

Image
The Walking Dead is an American series that starts off with a zombie apocalypse. People that have survived this apocalypse fight "walkers" and other groups of people to survive looking for food, shelter and ammunition. The clothes they are wearing and wounds on their bodies represents the rough times they have been going through trying to find Beth and get Noah back home. It is shown by the rips, holes, dirt blood and sweat stains on their clothes , which also shows the period of time in which they haven't found a proper shelter with food and water. The scene starts off with a canted angle and low-key lighting to create an unceasing effect among the audience and also includes a master shot to show all the characters in the room. This scene is when Noah is changing from Rick's group to a different group in exchange  for Beth. As he does this, he gives Rick the gun he gave Noah to learn how to protect himself. The environment is tense and the characters a...

OUR LOGO

Image
THE CREATION OF OUR LOGOS Firstly, we searched for a logo maker free and uncomplicated to use.  My team mate and I found many and ended up using LOGOJOY .  This website gave us many varieties of logos to choose from These are our ideas for our FINAL LOGO , including an illustration of film production elements of a clapperboard and an audience in front of a screen. THE FINAL DECISION AS OUR FINAL LOGO, WE CHOSE THIS ONE BEING THAT IT LOOKED MORE SOPHISTICATED THAN THE REST. IT INCLUDES THE NAME OF OUR COMPANY AND AN ICON OF AN AUDIENCE IN FRONT OF A SCREEN. WE ALSO CHOSE THIS LOGO INSTEAD OF THE REST DUE TO THE BLACK SCREEN WE INCLUDED IN THE CREATION OF THE LOGO.

PLOT

WE HAVE 4 DIFFERENT IDEAS FOR OUR FILM OPENING FEAR : A girl who's worst nightmares became the only thing she could see because she had been cursed and needed to find the remedy to get rid of the curse. BLACKOUT : This is about a girl crossing through a forest as a short cut, not knowing that she was being followed the whole time by her secretly obsessed admirer. The scene ends in the girl being hit in the hed by a rock by the stalker.  THE SHINING : a girl went to her friend's house and noticed that the door had been forced open. When she looked inside of the house, hr friend's body was on the floor and a bright light blinded her. LOST : This is about a girl who is a ghost and lives in a hospital, even though she thinks she isn't dead. She lives there because her parents left her there when she was dying as a baby and wants revenge on them.

SOUND

Image
This is important to create the correct environment and emotions for the audience. It is used to  ₓ Simulate reality. ₓ Help the creator create a mood among the audience In films, the 3 following types of sound are important because: Non-diegetic: This is the type of sound that characters cannot hear and is only heard the background. It sets the scene for the audience and creates the genre expected by the audience like suspense music for a thriller film, or happy, upbeat music for a comedy film. Diegetic: This is the sound type that characters can hear like other character`s voices, explosions... this type of sound that can include the audience in conversations and make it more realistic Co ntrapuntal sound: which is a way to confuse the audience, but also add mystery to the scene, like when someone is changing the radio in a tense situation. These types of sound are important and form up the previous sounds: 🔽 DIALO...

OPENING CREDITS

Image
To start off with, the definition of opening credits or opening titles is a list shown at the beginning of a film with the most important people listed. Some are designed -with or without music in the background- as a text superimposed on a blank screen or on pictures, and others are sometimes on top of an action. Another type of opening credits is called an opening title sequence, in which the credits are built into a sequence of their own. Here is an example of an opening title sequence of the series " The Walking Dead" : The opening credits of The Walking Dead change throughout the whole series. Most of the time, they relate the names of the actors with they personal assets of the series like guns, watches, photos... Also, the opening credits shows locations seen throughout the season and change the next season, showing new images, including their theme song in the background and title of series. Since the 1980's, the opening credits have presented the most...

LOGO RESEARCH

Image
LOGO RESEARCH In this class we will be learning about different popular logos. These logos represent the company and are normally presented at the start/end of a movie/game. WALT DISNEY This brand is one of the world's most popular producers and entertainment providers founded by Walt Elias Disney. His logo has always (since 1983) consisted of the words WALT DISNEY PICTURES in this format. This was inspired by his own signature Later, in 1985, the logo added a castle with a star flying over it They would have a basic animation for the logo Disney makes variations for different films (not all films) by changing the castle to match the one in the film, the star going over the castle, the colours of the logo... The logo has been improved to look more realistic as the animation is more  developed  and colour has been intensified.  The logo has gone from this in 1983                    ...
